A film that explores how a small group of people in Madrid laid the groundwork for catching a dictator 25 years after his rise to power, making him the first to be humbled by the international justice system since the Nuremberg Trials. When Pinochet finally returned to Chile, he faced 200 accusations of his crimes, this time in Chilean courts. In January 2001, Pinochet was placed under house arrest, and the Chilean justice system finally started to make up for lost time.

What can one say about the terrible horrors experienced by so many people under the Pinochet regime! This film is a must-see for anyone who cares about the atrocities committed by ruling tyrants around the world. We need to be informed as in this film, that these things are going on and be inspired to call on our democratic governments to do whatever they can to intervene. A very informative and moving film.

An interesting film about a horrible time in Chile.

Chilean Patricio Guzman's documentary about astronomers in Chile's Atacama Desert, Nostalgia for the Light, led me to his other documentaries: Salvador Allende, A Film and The Pinochet Case. I recommend all 3.
