"No name on the bullet", western 1959. Star, Audie Murphy, was one of the most decorated soldiers of WWII. Murphy, born in Texas, 1924, was a nice looking man, diminutive in size but with the look of a cobra that will bite you dead if anyone messes with him. He won Medal of Honor and just about every other one possible. A real tough guy on the screen and in real life. In the film he plays a legendary gunman, a hit man, who arrives in town. Everyone seems to think there is a reason to kill them over everyone else. Audie seems to enjoy making people nervous. The rest of the cast was well known to audiences in 1959 but not today's younger audience. When did the western die out in America? We replaced it with other films of violence.

Is there such a thing as a "psychological western"?

Quite a good western- with a bit of serious philosphy thrown in to boot.

This was a good movie where fear gripped an entire town because of a killer who came to their town. They knew of his reputation but they didn't know who he was there to kill. Like I said fear drove some to even taking their own life. And in the end, the person that he came to town to kill wasn't who everyone had thought it to be. Fear is a dangerous emotion and it can ruin your life.
