At first I found it funny then it grew old fast. Did not enjoy it and once I got to the mid point felt I had to finish. the last couple of chapters however I skimmed.

Had only seen the Cursing Mommy column once in The New Yorker, so wasn't sure how good the book would be. Certainly for the first several pages, I was wondering why people find her funny. Then I started to get into it, and the entry for Feb. 9 made me laugh until I cried.... I think I might have to buy this book, and get copies for all my Clean-Talkin' Mommy friends. Partly I just love the surreal world the Cursing Mommy inhabits, with the strange grocery store and her children's school constantly having work days for families to go in and regrout the tiles in the washrooms, resurface the asphalt, etc., and her book group that seems to read exclusively books about how terrible the Bush administration was....until they discover books on how terrible the Reagan administration was.... Much fun to read. Spoiler alert: there's a lot of swearing....! (my favourite part....okay, I'm kidding) - Signed, An Average Middle-Aged Mom (except in true Canadian fashion I prefer to be known as "Mum")

Well, this certainly is an odd book, but not really in a good way. It's about a stay-at-home mom who is the Cursing Mommy. It's pretty much a one-joke book that wears thin after the first few pages, but really gets old by page 245. Yes, the mommy curses on every page and almost every paragraph and uses the F word more than the worst Army drill sergeant. But that's not really the problem. The book is at times anxiety producing and at other times just plain boring. This book gets a D rating from me (although an F rating would be true justice!).

Funny and foul. Not for those who are offended by bad language. This is a very light amusing read. Maybe the perfect thing for your average middle aged mom.

Very relaxing and at the same time really intriguing reading! Highly recommend it, especially to the housewives or to women who want to unload their mind with some light book.

Hilarious, foul-mouthed heroine.

I expected the cursing, of course, but I found it more distracting than amusing and could only read the first 40 pages or so.
