(As I did not read this series in order, I was slightly confused by what happened/was happening). But I actually read this book last, and most stuff still made sense and whatnot. The cover creeped me out at first for a while though. But SIRENS! Who can resist the good pull of a book on, well, mythical creatures that pull in those around them with their deadly voices? Two sisters, ever the pair, are tested in their relationship when one is led away by some mysteriously pretty girls in a "summer town". Isn't this interesting... but beware! Mature audience only! Violence is pretty... disturbing. 4/5 stars

I would agree with those who have said that the story was relatively simple and that the characters lacked a certain amount of depth. However, the ending is simply unpredictable and it will be interesting to see how this will get resolved.

I thought this book was okay in the beginning, it was strange and unique, but I didn't really like how it changed character point of view so quickly. As I kept reading, that problem got better when it was more of changing points of view for certain chapters. Plus, the book steadily got better. By the end, I was left craving for the next book in the series.

I was alarmed when my 9 year old daughter brought this home from the library. It was in the "Tween" section, and is definitely NOT tween appropriate. There was frequent love content that was way too mature, and a few graphic violence/gore scenes. My daughter thought it was just going to be a nice mermaid/swimming story. Luckily, I saw the book before she got too far into it...

The book was alright... it was a nice read and the characters were relatable, but it was way too predictable and the protagonist, Gemma, was too perfect. She had no flaws at all, and right from the start you could tell what the story will be.
I had higher expectations for this one.
If you're into Sirens and all that, you would instantly pick up on the excess foreshadowing.
However, I did really like the relationship between Harper and Daniel. I would read a book in Daniel's or Alex's perspective.

An addicting first book to a series. I couldn't put it down. The characters are interesting and relatable. I'm looking forward to diving into this world.

"I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can't live somebody else's life for them. They have to make their own choices, and sometimes all we can do is learn to live with them." -Daniel
