Characters: 9/10
Plot: 9/10
Writing: 9/10
This was a satisfying conclusion to a fun trilogy. Like its predecessors, it was a fast and easy read with intrigue and humor. The plot was compelling and led up to a great climax. The character's death at the end was fitting for the plot and added both tension and resolution to Sophie's character. I also liked the use of Elodie to create simultaneous conflict and solutions throughout the story. I enjoyed every moment of this book.

Spell Bound is the final book in the Hex Hall series, and just as fluffy, fast-paced fun as the previous two. It could have been drawn-out much more, considering how much happens in this book, actually. Still, it was enjoyable and tied up the loose ends of everything.

Sophie continues to entertain, although still be realistically youthful in many ways. The friendship, the love interest, the BtVS-style world saving...it's all there. The only part of this book that felt like a cop-out, or at the very least WAY too convenient, was the Cal storyline. Other than that...yeah, this worked for me.

I recommend it for fans of the series, obviously. And I recommend the trilogy for fans of YA (especially contemporary supernatural), magic (including shapeshifters, witches, faeries, demons, etc.), female protagonists who are snarky and smart, sizzling PG romance and action. These are pretty 'popcorn' as books go, so you can absolutely get and blitz through all three books in a week.

the ending was kinda rushed in my opinion and i was so devastated when Cal dies-got sucked into the pit

The nerve-wracking downer ending of the second book set high expectations for this one, but it didn't quite make it there. Between the threads it left hanging (Izzy and Torin) and the threads that were too easily resolved (demonglass collecting, Lara's control of Sophie), the finale was so okay it's average.

This series was a lot of fun with a lot of interesting & complex characters as well as an intriguing plot that keeps the reader engaged in the story.

Average is a good word to describe Spell Bound. I had enjoyed the first book enough to read the second, and loved the second, but this last one...not so much. I thought it was slow and unrealistic. Through the first two books I had mixed feelings about the main character, but I really didn't like her in this last book, I found her annoying and her "witty" comments weren't even that funny, I didn't feel they were necessary either, which contributed to the annoying persona. I thought it was an awfully bland series ender for what had the potential to be a decent trilogy.

what is the first one called anyway it sounds like a really good book

WOW! This book was fun. Even though I realized that it was the last book in the series and not the first. I found it easy to memorize and get used to the characters. There were also little flashbacks that happened in the previous books (I think so), which helped a little. I kinda died at the end of the book... And kinda wishing there was more...

“Archer turned back to me, and that familiar grin flashed over his face. “Come on, Mercer. Me, you, the cellar. What could go wrong?”

“We're going to the Underworld," Izzy said. She bounced a little as she said it, her eyes bright and her tone implying that "the Underworld" was akin to "Candy Land.”

“Whoa, I'm your girlfriend now?"
Archer shrugged. "We've tried to kill each other, fought ghouls, and kissed a lot. I'm pretty sure we're married in some cultures.”
