Tony's character has definitely developed. Still some inappropriate parts but a great movie! I would tell any marvel fan to watch this movie!

While I enjoyed this movie, I definitely feel like they could have done more with Whiplash. He's an excellent villain in the comics, but in this movie he feels very flat as a character. Besides that, this is an excellent addition to the Marvel universe and an interesting take on Tony's development as a character. It's easy to spot the differences between his character in this movie and the last.

I personally think its better than the first. Whiplash has the potential to be the best villain. My favorite villains are Killmonger, Loki, and the Winter Soldier.

A good film and the third in the MCU. It's fun, with good action and good characters. I really don't get why people say it's bad. If anything, it's about on par with Iron Man 1. Still, definitely worth the watch.

Or the one where Tony Stark gets his mojo back.
 All Iron Man films, and arguably all Avengers films, concern the trials and tribulations of the franchise character of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).
 After the US Congress demanded that Stark give up his Iron Man technology... After being attacked by an enemy created by his father… And while dying from the same thing that has kept him alive, Stark has chosen to recklessly waste away his remaining days at the very moment that the world needed him. But with a little help from his friends, Iron Man saved the day.
 [Iron Man 2] was a good, solid, and funny film. It was one of the best of the early MCU films and it featured one of the best superhero battles, ever, even eight-years on.
 The writing was improved, especially the banter, and the tension was tightened. Sure, it sought to up the ante with two villains instead of one, Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) and silly Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell), who were sadly only vehicles towards the greatness of the protagonist, Tony Stark.
 Yes, [Iron Man 2] was formulaic, despite some emotional-psychological asides, but it was an enjoyable, tried and tested formula, nonetheless. Oh yeah, the score is almost non-existent. Fortunately, there was AC/DC.
 And despite [The Incredible Hulk], [Iron Man 2] proved that the MCU was not a fluke or a pipedream. The film introduced the first MCU superhero team up and it was cool. As the film introduced the Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), War Machine (Don Cheadle), along with SHIELD as we know it, it was the herald of [The Avengers].
 Now, the following are scientifically irrefutable reasons why [Iron Man 2] is superior to [Iron Man 3]:
 * It doesn’t retread old ground with regards to Stark’s psychological state
 * A better final battle
 * Scarlett Johansson

MCU Cast Changes: Don Cheadle as James Rhodes

MCU Minor Cast Additions: Garry Shandling as Senator Stern, John Slattery (from Mad Men) as the older Howard Stark

MCU Inconsistencies:
 * A new element called “vibranium”

Things Being Repeated:
* Stan Lee cameos
* Iron Man suiting up
* Dramatic opening of a plane’s loading ramp
* Stingers

Things to be Repeated:
* NYC’s World Fair Grounds
* AC/DC
* a shield

Marvel Moments of Cool:
 #5 - “I have successfully privatized world peace.”
 #6 - Strawberries
 #7 - “Nice work, kid.”
 #8 - The Black Widow
 #9 - Lasers!
 #10 - “A little prick.”

This was an ok sequel to Iron Man. A little uneven, the villain isn't any good, but at least there's a lot of Tony Stark!

Senator Stern: My priority is to get the Iron Man weapon turned over to the people of the United States of America.
Tony Stark: Well, you can forget it. I am Iron Man. The suit and I are one. To turn over the Iron Man suit would be to turn over myself, which is tantamount to indentured servitude or prostitution, depending on what state you're in. You can't have it.
Senator Stern: Look, I'm no expert...
Tony Stark: In prostitution? You're a senator. Come on.
