This is not the original Canadian release. The Canuck version started with "I've Just Seen a Face" not "Drive My Car".
I know because I bought it the day it came out. This is the British EMI version.

Released in 1965 (following the release of "Help!" in the same year), "Rubber Soul" would be The Beatles 6th studio album. It was recorded in a rather rushed, four-week period of time (and immediately out in the record stores on Dec. 3rd) in order to make the Christmas market of that year.

Incorporating such musical styles as R&B, soul, pop and psychedelia, "Rubber Soul" is a fine example of The Beatles artistic maturation as they were quickly attaining both critical and commercial success all across the pop-music nation on either side of the Atlantic.

"Rubber Soul" was the group's first album not to feature their name on the cover. Rolling Stone magazine ranks this album at #5 on their list of "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time".

This remastered CD contains 14 tracks, all composed by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. 4 of my very favourite tunes are - Nowhere Man, Drive My Car, In My Life and Michelle.

For my money, the best Beatles Album ever! Lets just look at the contents: Drive My Car, Norwegian Wood (This bird has flown) Michelle, You Won't See Me, No Where Man, and my favorite, I'm Looking Through you. Oh, so many other great tunes are on this album. A must for any Beatle fan!

For the relatively short recording period of this group [8 yrs?] this album- followed by another excellent release "Revolver" a year later- transitioned them from The Fab Four to the Rock Gurus of Sgt. Pepper. Lennon, McCartney and Harrison hone their writing AND composing chops. There are differences in album contents depending on which version [UK/USA] you access. This version offered has Drive My Car, Nowhere Man [also released on"Yellow Submarine" and the first tune Lennon strays from love songs], and a couple other titles omitted/switched. Fascinating era of rock music with TONS of lit, docs, etc. available for song back-stories as well as alternate mixes [mono/stereo]. If all you know The Beatles for is I Wanna Hold Your Hand or Hey Jude… you're in for a real treat!
