King Karnak, who has no children, wants an heir to the throne, so he holds an unusual contest among the young people of his kingdom, and it’s not a jousting match. Instead, he asks them to plant a tiny seed and grow it. Jack, the son of a farmer, takes his seed, plants it, and waits … and waits …. and waits for it to sprout, with no luck. Has he any chance at all of becoming the king’s heir?
