Delightful!
This is a feel-good movie about French food, cookbook writing, and early 2000's blogging. The film depicts the story of Julia Child's work to introduce French cuisine to housewives in America. Alongside this story is one of a young writer who takes on Julia's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" as a year long project. She'll cook each recipe in the span of one year and blog about it. The film is light and sweet like a dollop of whipped cream!
Julie and Julia is a wonderful story of a young woman (Julie played by Amy Adams) creating her dream life by challenging herself to cook all the recipes in the famous "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child. Meryl Streep as the renowned Julia Child gives a brilliant performance.
What is the objection to stainless steel knives? They are practical for us servantless cooks who have to wash our own dishes.
amazing movie
I watched it quite a while back, not long after it was released, and really enjoyed it.
This past year, I got fascinated with how Amy Adams shows so much personality in her expressive face, and started looking for more of her stuff.
Decided to watch Julie and Julia again, hoping I wouldn't be bored.
This time, I also decided to add the English Subtitled Commentary to show, and it's AWESOME! *find it when you click "language options", in the main menu.
Those just add a cool extra bit of fun and info and entertainment!
Two terrific loves stories, one terrific life story, great acting almost all around, some wit and humour. One to see again, and a great date movie.
“Julie & Julia” was an entertaining film. Yet, I was more interested in Julia’s story and would have been quite satisfied with a movie that was just a biographical account of the renowned chef.
delightful!
