Aug 2015.... this book fit into the category "a book that scares you" for the Chinook Arch summer reading challenge. I used to live in Medicine Hat, and my sister still lives close to there and works there. Her son would have been working at the Medicine Hat Mall a little before these murders took place, and while he did not "know" Jeremy, he had seen him around in the mall....interesting that just after I finished reading this, they announced on the radio that J.R. (I looked it up and her name is Jasmine) was released from all of her conditions, and is now off of her probation. I find this just a little unfair, as Jeremy will be in jail for the rest of his life, and if it hadn't been for her, he would not have done this.......but on second thought, I guess the way his life was going, he probably would have ended up in jail eventually anyway? My sister and I both feel that he wasn't the one responsible for one of these murders! Anyway......yikes, this book was scary!

This is a well written expose dealing with very difficult subject matter. The authors do a good job of presenting the facts without sensationalizing them; not an easy feat given the media coverage that surrounded this case. The book also stands as a scathing condemnation of what we laughingly refer to as a "justice system" in Canada. Read it, and you will see.

Very good but very disturbing.

A disturbing read, but interesting to find out the details (for those with a morbid curiousity) and just to get some of the background.
