The Russian bear is stirring-and it's hungry-in the thrilling fifth installment in the #1 New York Times bestselling series. The first disturbing reports reached Delta Force Lieutenant Colonel Charley Castillo in the form of backchannel messages concerning covert U.S. intelligence assets working for a variety of agencies around the world who have suddenly gone missing and then, inexplicably, found dying. Or dead.

Excellent read as are all of the books in this series. You won't want to put it down!

I was a little disappointed with this one. Longer than it needed to be. 6 of 10 for me.

My first Griffen, but I want more! What a magnificent spy story, marvellous characters, topical interest, humour, a sexy Russian with red underbritches, even dogs and children (nice ones). A hero who makes mistakes, and almost loses everything because what he has discovered is unbelievable by the regular spies in the CIA. So rare to see the tentative thought processes in deliberation before the action. I enjoyed the parts between the action as we delved into atmosphere and scene-setting. Probably the most enjoyable spy story I have ever read.

A typical Griffin presidential novel of interest and intrigue, which means it's good. 8 of 10 stars
