When their flirtation compromises her own reputation, Poppy shocks everyone by accepting his proposal--only to find that her new husband offers his passion, but not his trust.

All his life, he has held the world at arm's length...but the sharp, beguiling Poppy demands to be his wife in every way that matters. Still, as desire grows between them, an enemy lurks in the shadows. Now if Harry wants to keep Poppy by his side, he must forge a true union of body and soul, once and for all...in Tempt Me at Twilight , the third book in Lisa Kleypas's Victorian romance series.

Historical romance fans lose their minds over Kleypas' Wallflowers series, which is indeed excellent, but I actually think her Hathaways series (of which this is the third installment) is even better. Each book builds wonderfully on the one that came before it, the family continues to grow and change, their relationships with each other shift and deepen, and the result is endlessly satisfying. I also think this series is vastly funnier than Kleypas' books generally are, and this book was no exception. I loved Poppy and Harry -- and can't wait for Leo's book next!

How do I explain this book? It's so much more than I ever imagined. Kleypas has written Poppy intelligent and kind, without making her seem naive (my biggest pet peeve). And Harry, how wonderfully Kleypas managed to bring out the vulnerable child in our big, bad villain. His conversations and his actions, all speak of a child who's lived his life in isolation and as a man, will do everything to prevent the most important person in his life abandoning him.

What fun! This is my first Lisa Kleypas book, but I know I will read many more. The story was sweet, the characters were engaging and well written, the love story was lovely. Yes, please!
