This is a comedy, right? RIGHHHTTT? But what the hell is this story really about? A guy who doesn't have a job and his grandpa dies? Does he die? Why does he see rocket man. The ending, as many tried to convey, is the oddest bit of this film. I can't tell what the hell happened in the end. I mean, huh? This whole movie is eh, but that ending though. Someone help me!

Very strange movie......
Good movie if you are trying to learn Japanese for there is not much dialogue with a very basic vocabulary....

This movie should not be viewed by ANYONE in the following States: Georgia, Louisiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, South Carolina, Kansas, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and Alaska. Your head will probably explode because it's can't grasp it's awesomeness.
My hero gets big! My hero kicks ass! My Hero takes names!

Very disappointed. The monster fight scenes were very funny but the rest of the film was incredibly slow, boring, and way too long. Unless you're a big fan of Japanese monster movies, the twist ending at the last 15 minutes is the best part about this entire movie. (Review originally published on my Rotten Tomatoes account.)

Funny movie, although some of the humor is a tad crude. Slow start and the biggest WTF ending. All in all, so-so.

It has a slow beginning and weird ending. The monsters and Big Man Japan are hilarious. It has heart and should've potential, they just need a kick at the end to make it solid.

If you can get past the slow start (and generally leisurely pace throughout) this is a wonderfully droll, low key mockumentary. Some laughs, many smiles.

An amusing premise, but most of the movie dragged on quite slowly.
