Left in the cold care of a loveless foster family and alienated at school, Sarah Crane finds a kindred spirit in classmate Nick Dunnigan, a former mental patient still plagued by voices and visions. And in eccentric art instructor Bettina Phillips who is eager to mentor Sarah's artistic talent. But within the walls of Bettina's ancestral home, Sarah finds something altogether different and disturbing--a gateway from the grave into the world of the living that she and Nick will use to take control of their lives and to exact revenge.

It was a good read, but it didn't have no plot to it, ending not well to feel satisfying. I loved the characters though.

This book was a little sketchy in the beginning but moved forward into very classic Saul styled suspense. A must read for anyone who is an avid fan of John Saul.

Didn't like it much, short on plot, long on borrowing from previous books

Another great book from a great writer. This book had a bit of a different feel to it than other books he's written in the past, but it was still very enjoyable. It was a real page turner, I couldn't put it down. I read it in less than a day. I definitely recommend this book.
