A career criminal with OCD tendencies and a savant-like genius for bringing order to his crime scenes, Martin considers himself one of the best in the business. Of course, he only takes items that will go unnoticed by the homeowners. Even though he has never met these homewoners, he's spent hours in their houses, looking through their photo albums and reading their journals. He's developed a friendship of sorts with them, and accordingly he decides to intervene though it means breaking many of his twitchy, neurotic rules.

I really enjoyed this different book - quite intriguing!

I thought the book's pace was terribly slow at first and my interest level was low, but as more characters were introduced and the pace quickened, the detailed information of the first half was shown to be useful. The book won me over and I am impressed by the author's purposeful and meticulous detail and organization.

"In this fun, clever mystery, the "bad guy" is actually a good guy. An endearing thief with a conscience (and obsessive-compulsive disorder), Martin Railsback steals only items that will go unnoticed and even plays guardian angel to the homeowners he burglarizes."
