Didn't get past 50 pages. It was written like a potty mouth teenager trying to shock her parents with over the top outrageous ranting. Nothing was remotely believable. Thank god it was a library book—had I paid for it I'd have been furious.

When I first started this book I thought it would be one I would read a few pages and put aside. I was engrossed after a few pages and spend the evening laughing til I cried.

I've been recommending this book for years. By far one of the best books I've ever read!

FABULOUS!! I would recommend this book to anyone who is willing to listen. The author engages you from page one. She pours spirit, warmth, heart into each of her characters. I laughed and I cried from beginning to end. It teaches us to believe in things besides ourselves to care for others (people and animals), it teaches us to look at ourselves and how to endure all the small things we thing are so impossible. I have never loved the characters of a book so much - River Bommarito and her wonderful, endearing, troubled, different, beguiling and believable daughters and their fabulously fantastic brother Henry. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE read this book and recommend it to any and everyone. Cathy Lamb is a genius.

A lovely read-this author never disappoints-sometimes shocks!-but never lets her readers down.I was almost as upset as Henry's sisters were when I got to the crucial moment !
