This DVD would only play to about half way through, then started skipping and eventually froze altogether. I ended up renting this movie from the Apple iTunes store to watch the remainder.

Well done documentary, quite enlightening, I just hope this copy can get replaced so the next person doesn't suffer the frustration of only being able to see half the movie. I will report the issue when I return it to the library. This copy has Item ID 31383081872312.

Such an interesting movie. Highly recommend for women who are contemplating starting a family or who are pregnant. Keep in mind that the scary stuff is in the US - not so sure things are this dire in Canada. And frankly, midwives can start the "cascade of interventions" just as much as any doctor can. A midwife broke my waters for me, messed up my labour and I wound up having a caesarian. I still have mixed feelings about how it all played out. The best thing any woman can do for herself is be knowledgeable about her choices. Labour and birth are natural. Our bodies know how to do this. Complications are rare but we do have excellent medical care in this country to take care of them when they do arise. And oh, the scenes in this movie of women having babies.....have a hanky ready, it's very moving!

The midwives at the birth center advised me to watch this when I found out I was expecting. I thought it would be about how to deal with birth, instead it tells a person what they need to know if they aren't sure what route to take. In my head that was never a question, but watching this video cemented my natural birth in my head. My daughter's father was questioning a natural birth, and this scared him straight for me! :) I highly reccomend this movie to anybody in the middle of deciding if a natural birth is really worth it. *IT TOTALLY IS*

This video needs to be seen by anyone expecting children. As a woman who has experienced 2 traumatic hospital births I can relate and wish that I had seen this sooner so I knew that the drug-induced medical labour is not the only option.

Home birth is safe!!!!!!!!!

Empower yourself and become educated. This is everything your doctor doesn't want you to know about labour and why

I wasn't expecting to be watching a documentary on how the U.S. is providing too many interventions during labour and delivery. I was hoping for labouring techniques for a natural labour.
