On the eve of parenthood, a cartoonist reflects on his adolescent awakening, then finds his childhood friendship strained by his new role as a father. It's nice to learn more about Kuper's life story (albeit in lightly fictionalized form), but there's little here to distinguish this from autobio comix produced by other cartoonists of his generation. The references to world events circa 2007 have quickly become dated.
