I love the Mama's and the Papa's! One of the best groups around! I love their music!

One of the all-time great pop albums. Two of the cuts on this album are outstanding - 'Monday, Monday' and 'California Dreamin'.' Their cover of the Beatles 'I Call Your Name' is better than the original, and their cover of Bobby Freeman's 'Do You Want To Dance' beats all others which I have heard, although the dance step is notably slower. Five other cuts on the album continue to bring me joy after 40 years of listening. Ok, there are three cuts which are 'meh'. Their great vocal harmonies dwarf those of the Beach Boys and the Everly Brothers. As for the title of the album, this quartet embodied the hippie look before North America had even discovered what a hippie was. As for the ears, have a listen.
