Very well done and interesting plots entertaining the idea of how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle got his ideas for the Sherlock Holmes stories.
Disappointing. We watched an hour before giving it up. Although the story is interesting, the acting does not compare favorably with other BBC productions (for example Benedict Cumberbatch or Jeremy Brett's Sherlock). The actors do not inhabit their characters. Not for a minute can you forget that they are acting.
Good stuff ###
Great story and great acting by Dr. Bell. A must for Sherlock Holmes fans. Mr. Doyle did really have a Dr. Bell as a mentor and was the inspiration for Mr. Holmes.
Excellent - well worth watching.
Another BBC series that doesn't let you down. Good writing, good locations - well done. Follows "Dr Bell and Mr Doyle – The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes".
This series was just brilliant!! Ian Richardson was excellent as were all the other actors. The idea behind this particular series was to show how Arthur Conan Doyle became the man who gave us Shelock Holmes. Each episode builds on the previous episode and we find that things are not always as they seem.
Interesting examination of the motivation behind Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes character. An eccentric and well-acted movie.
Excellent scripts, sets and locations, costumes and acting. You'd never know this is 10 years old. The stories are fairly creepy--definitely not for school aged kids unless they can handle disturbing stories.
Excellent films, well acted, well written. The sets and film locations are extremely realistic. Very entertaining.
