Fun film to watch, great sound track. I enjoyed baby Groot dancing. Great cast and awesome cameos.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Just plain awful. If you want a good movie go the first film of this series.
Written for 'tweens', but with lots of vulgarity. Parents, don't expose your children to this kind of flashy drivel.
I liked this one better than the first. It has lots of jokes and adventure. Also, baby Groot is so cute.
Lots of action and fun. The raccoon with the off-colored jokes was pretty funny. This was the epitome of a fun summer movie. I heard there would be a crossover with other Marvel Comics superheroes. That would absolutely be wild.
A great movie - although I enjoyed it more the second time watching it. The storyline for Quills father doesn't follow the storyline that was established in the comics but once you ignore that then the story becomes enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first volume of Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a fun flick in the midst of the Marvel Cinema Universe's growing seriousness, and it didn't require watching any previous movies to fully understand the story. Take it from me, I wasn't as invested in Civil War because I skipped out on both preceding Captain America movies and Iron Man III.
So when the second volume became available at my library, I checked it out and sat down to watch. And while I may have picked the worst time to watch this movie, it enhanced my emotional experience.
The core of this movie is the Guardians themselves--this ragtag family unit compiled of individuals who have been hurt in the past and are trying to mend themselves. Rocket and Gamora are some of the more prime examples of this, having come from abusive backgrounds. Without trying to give away spoilers, there is a point near the end of the movie when our team of heroes experience a loss. And I was watching this during a time when I was experiencing a similar loss. I didn't think I'd cry over a superhero movie, but there I was.
I'll need to see this again to get a better grasp of how I feel about it, but as of this moment, it's a pretty good watch.
This film is great for Marvel and non-Marvel fans alike. I don't watch many films by this company nor am I a fan, but I must say that I really enjoyed this movie. There is a lot of great humour and sarcasm, and the characters are interesting and complex. It had a great opening scene as I felt that it captured the essence of the movie perfectly with music and all. The graphics in this film are fantastic with such vivid and vibrant colours as well as amazing sets. Although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first movie, the story was still very intriguing, and it was portrayed very well. I would definitely see this film again, and no matter how you’re feeling, I believe that this film can put you in the best mood, even if you do get upset at some parts. 5/5 stars.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy was an amazing movie and would be very hard to follow up, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 does a stellar job of it. It progresses the story in a great way giving backstories to a lot of the characters. The soundtrack can be enjoyed by everyone, as can the rag-tag group of friends that the movie series is based around is very lovable. The characters are great and well thought out, and they all provide comedic relief at the perfect moments. The writers really nailed this movie and they certainly know what they are doing to make this movie enjoyable for the entire family. Overall this movie can be enjoyed by anyone, Marvel fans or not, and is a great movie. 5 out of 5.

Much like the first movie, I was scared to watch this one with worries of whether or not it could live up to the hype. This movie is nothing like you expect and takes on a completely different story line and planet- but what makes it so lovable is the characters unchanging nature. They are the same hilarious, dysfunctional, misfit team as the first movie but still manage to develop into more mature characters. The new set of characters (baby groot, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell) add another level to the movie which is unmatched and it becomes an emotional roller coaster. The perfect blend of comedy, action, and emotion. I wouldn’t say it surpasses the first movie, but it would be nearly impossible to. As far as sequels go, better than most, and well worth the hype. Rating: 4.5/5

I enjoyed this more than the first one I think...better ending than that ridiculous "shield of ships" bit on the first one. Characters all had a little more growth, but like the first film, the emphasis was still on the fun and irreverence.
Not as good as first (one of my favorite marvel movies) but did well as a sequel. I loved the soundtrack (again not sure i liked it as much as the first) but still great. It was nice to be introduced to new character, one of my favorites of this movie being Kurt Russel. Definitely worth a watch if you like Marvel movies especially the first Guardians, but we need to give them a break, the first one was hard to surpass.
It was good and had some laughs, but the villains and the basic story structure is a little off. The one villain is so ridiculous that it's hard to take them as any kind of a threat. And perhaps they went a little too far with the humour since the drama suffered as a result. When you're doing slapstick humour over whether Baby Groot will push the wrong button, it's hard to believe there is any real danger to the Guardians. It's a blast to watch, but it's not on par with most of the recent Marvel Films. And the music... Ugh... After 5 songs it started to drag on, and they just continually pumped out trashy music. It was as bad as Suicide Squad for the Jukebox mix every 5 minutes. It's a fun film, but it's not an epic by any stretch of the imagination.
I really enjoyed this movie. Personally, I think it was better than the first one, but after reading the other comments I guess other people do not agree.
Watched Vol 1multiple times and enjoyed it each time. Eagerly awaited the sequel. Watched Vol 1 and then immediately Vol 2. Vol 2 was horrible in comparison and I could hardly wait for it to end. Poor plot, disjointed storyline, far too much use of computer generated images. Very disappointed in this sequel. Watched the final credits to the end. Seems like a thousand people worked on this, too bad they didn't do a better job. :(
Equal with the first. The plot is ok, I'm still not sure about the whole god thing. (definatly with a little g) Is Star Lord's dad a god in the comics too? I am not sure.
The humor is very mature, but even some of those are funny, I have admit I laughed several times. Baby Groot is funny too.
Fun movie, enjoyed the story. Fantastic soundtrack! That raccoon is an amazing fighter.
Good, but not as good as the original. To be fair, the original movie was something fresh to the superhero genre, so it would be impossible to redo that. This time around, it felt like they were trying to duplicate a lot of the gags and bickering of the first movie. It was still funny and amusing, but not as much as it was in the original. The best part of this movie was the villain. I won't spoil it, but the villain in this movie is one of the better baddies in the recent Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Very entertaining laugh out loud moments with great tunes thrown in. May be on par if not better than Volume 2.
Fantastic entertainment. Great action, great music, and incredible effects. Almost as good as the first movie.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is a fun enjoyable movie. I think, having watched both one and two almost back-to-back, that overall the first one's better but not by much. Two goes deeper into the characters and the last third of the movie is better and packs much more of an emotional punch. I think that what keeps this from being better than the first is that for the first hour, Marvel's trying too hard. There is too much bathroom humor for my liking that I think should've been cut and the other humor seems a bit forced at times. However, at it's heart, this is a movie about family, particularly fathers and sons. The ending is rather sad (I won't spoil it any further). The music, as usual is excellent and integrates into the plot much more than the first with songs such as Brandy (Looking Glass), The Chain (Fleetwood Mac), and Father and Son (Cat Stevens) being very much integrated into the plot. A fun opening leads to a slow, deep middle before ending with a fun final battle that at the end will rug at the heartstrings. All in all a good movie.
Same adorable characters as the pilot with a lot more screen time from Groot who opened and closed the epic sci-fi with his cuteness and doggedness to earn his rightful place as a Guardian, no less than Quill, Gamora, Drax and Rocket. Over 2 hours of super thrills and laughs as the crew must save themselves from a godly villain. Highly entertaining.
WARNING SPOILERS: I don't think the real marvel universe says that Ego was Peter's father but it actually ties up to the story which is great! Very sad at the end. I almost had tears.
