Loved it. Baby Groot is awesome and too cute for words. Enjoyed seeing Sly Stalone's cameo part and Kurt Russell gave a good performance. The soundtrack was awesome, of course!!
An enjoyable adventure, but the dialogue could really use some work. Not much wit or charm and there was so much opportunity for it to verbally shine and it failed.
Still a really enjoyable series, but Vol 2 can't compete with the original.
The terrible good-guys are back in their second film. Love the humour featured in the Guardians movies. We get to explore a bit more of Marvels universe away from Earth. Soundtrack was just as good as the first one!
Marvel is overdone. Unlike the graphic novels and books (there are some out there) of the marvel universe, the Marvel movies all have the same sort of vibe to them. If you've been watching the other Marvel movies, you'll have a good idea of how things go. If not, then this movie, although slow at times, and a little awkward, is an entertaining watch. But again, a Marvel movie takes events that span years in graphic novels, both in our time and in in the story-lines, and squish it into 2 hours. Was not super impressed with the movie, but it had it good points.
I am not totally a fan. This was just ok for me. Nothing to get excited about.
Better than the first one. Quite an enjoyable sci-fi space romp through the Marvel Universe. Contains a lovable cast with plenty of action and funny moments. Definitely watch this one!
I liked it overall but the scenes with Kurt Russell were boring. He did not fit in well with the part and played the part horribly.
This movie was horrible I just hate this movie am I glad I didn't spend any money on this Bull Shit.
Solid movie, but I thought the first one was a little bit better. It took me a couple listens to the soundtrack, because I didn't know most of the songs. I know them now, and really enjoy hearing it! Love the Guardians!
Movie is boring at times but the high points of this movie overshadow the low points. Funny at times and good in story V2 is a fine movie that a Marvel fan should watch
A sequel that maintains the momentum of its predecessor, this second Guardians movie features just as many jokes and quotable moments as the first. A friend informed me that she has literally watched the movie daily since she got her DVD copy. If you enjoy the humor of other Marvel entries like "Thor: Ragnarok," "Antman," and "The Avengers," give this one a try.
Put in me down in the i-liked-it-better-than-the-original group. But then, i like my fun funny.
There are two kinds of fantasy (novels, films): the first is alternate-reality, as in alternate real-world, in which one is invited to take the author's fantasy world at face-value, temporarily anyway.
In such, laughable dialog is meant to be taken seriously. I.e. "Joker- your kind of evil must be scourged from the face of the earth!". If you like that kind of thing, you hated this movie.
Then there's there's the tongue-in-cheek, we're-all-just-having-fun here/nudge-nudge, wink-wink type, that this movie exemplifies. Example: "I hate you- you killed my mother and squished my walkman!" Top that, Batman!
Fun film to watch, great sound track. I enjoyed baby Groot dancing. Great cast and awesome cameos.
One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Just plain awful. If you want a good movie go the first film of this series.
Written for 'tweens', but with lots of vulgarity. Parents, don't expose your children to this kind of flashy drivel.
I liked this one better than the first. It has lots of jokes and adventure. Also, baby Groot is so cute.
Lots of action and fun. The raccoon with the off-colored jokes was pretty funny. This was the epitome of a fun summer movie. I heard there would be a crossover with other Marvel Comics superheroes. That would absolutely be wild.
A great movie - although I enjoyed it more the second time watching it. The storyline for Quills father doesn't follow the storyline that was established in the comics but once you ignore that then the story becomes enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first volume of Guardians of the Galaxy. It was a fun flick in the midst of the Marvel Cinema Universe's growing seriousness, and it didn't require watching any previous movies to fully understand the story. Take it from me, I wasn't as invested in Civil War because I skipped out on both preceding Captain America movies and Iron Man III.
So when the second volume became available at my library, I checked it out and sat down to watch. And while I may have picked the worst time to watch this movie, it enhanced my emotional experience.
The core of this movie is the Guardians themselves--this ragtag family unit compiled of individuals who have been hurt in the past and are trying to mend themselves. Rocket and Gamora are some of the more prime examples of this, having come from abusive backgrounds. Without trying to give away spoilers, there is a point near the end of the movie when our team of heroes experience a loss. And I was watching this during a time when I was experiencing a similar loss. I didn't think I'd cry over a superhero movie, but there I was.
I'll need to see this again to get a better grasp of how I feel about it, but as of this moment, it's a pretty good watch.
This film is great for Marvel and non-Marvel fans alike. I don't watch many films by this company nor am I a fan, but I must say that I really enjoyed this movie. There is a lot of great humour and sarcasm, and the characters are interesting and complex. It had a great opening scene as I felt that it captured the essence of the movie perfectly with music and all. The graphics in this film are fantastic with such vivid and vibrant colours as well as amazing sets. Although I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first movie, the story was still very intriguing, and it was portrayed very well. I would definitely see this film again, and no matter how you’re feeling, I believe that this film can put you in the best mood, even if you do get upset at some parts. 5/5 stars.

The original Guardians of the Galaxy was an amazing movie and would be very hard to follow up, but Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 does a stellar job of it. It progresses the story in a great way giving backstories to a lot of the characters. The soundtrack can be enjoyed by everyone, as can the rag-tag group of friends that the movie series is based around is very lovable. The characters are great and well thought out, and they all provide comedic relief at the perfect moments. The writers really nailed this movie and they certainly know what they are doing to make this movie enjoyable for the entire family. Overall this movie can be enjoyed by anyone, Marvel fans or not, and is a great movie. 5 out of 5.

Much like the first movie, I was scared to watch this one with worries of whether or not it could live up to the hype. This movie is nothing like you expect and takes on a completely different story line and planet- but what makes it so lovable is the characters unchanging nature. They are the same hilarious, dysfunctional, misfit team as the first movie but still manage to develop into more mature characters. The new set of characters (baby groot, Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell) add another level to the movie which is unmatched and it becomes an emotional roller coaster. The perfect blend of comedy, action, and emotion. I wouldn’t say it surpasses the first movie, but it would be nearly impossible to. As far as sequels go, better than most, and well worth the hype. Rating: 4.5/5

I enjoyed this more than the first one I think...better ending than that ridiculous "shield of ships" bit on the first one. Characters all had a little more growth, but like the first film, the emphasis was still on the fun and irreverence.
