Of course, the writing was not all that great. The girl is not a writer by profession. However, this story needed to be told. I found her mother to be a compelling character-wonder if she loves anybody? I felt really sorry for her, anyway.

Read this book after listening to Elissa interviewed on television.
Thanks for the insight into your shocking, sad polygamous marriage/cult. FLDS is also worth looking into to find out the truth of the matter. You will be very surprised.

I have to say that I didn't really enjoy this book. Although it was very eye-opening in regards to the cult's ideologies and life-styles, the quality of writing was just not there.

I had mixed feelings over this book. It gave me an insider's view of what it must be like to have been raised in such a closed community. You rejoice in her ability to move on with her life.
