Okay. Starts somewhat slow. For the most part ends well.

Powerful and iconic, The Breakfast Club is a well-filmed, well-acted, and quite entertaining coming-of-age film that is, to this day, surprisingly and effectively relatable.

This 80's film captures the social aspects of high school by showing what happens when you place a jock, a princess, a rebel, an outcast, and a brainy in school detention together. Each student is assigned the task to write an essay about who they think they are. Being teenagers, they don't know the answer either. This movie teaches us not to judge before we know, and not to react until we understand. By learning the story of each person and how they ended up in that library doing a Saturday detention, John Hughes has captured what it means to be human.

The Breakfast Club is one of the most well-known, classic 80’s movies from John Hughes. It is the perfect teen movie that everybody can enjoy and love. It follows the story of five high school students who all find themselves in detention on a Saturday morning. They are reluctant to get along until the end when they learn about each other and their very different lives. All of the characters are all so well-developed and interesting, it’s so hard to pick a favourite. The actors are just as amazing, and the soundtrack is iconic. I would rate this 4/5 stars.

This movie is truly a classic. It has a wonderful message and shows how even the most different people can come together. This movie has to be one of my favourites. It is such a good film and I was never bored or confused. I always understood what was going on, and I liked every part of it. I would highly recommend this movie to tweens, teenagers, and young adults.
Overall I rate it 4/5.

the Goldbergs tv show this season had an episode mimicking this classic movie. I agree with many of the comments / reviews below, Breakfast Club is one of the greatest movies ever, even if unbelievable.

In my opinion, The Breakfast Club is a perfect teen movie. I can't help comparing every teen movie I've watched to this one and, so far, nothing has surpassed it. Aside from watching it a lot during those years, it did not resemble my high school experience at all (I was a Brain by the way), but I love it anyway. It has many great lines and a good mix of comedy and fairly realistic drama. At any age, we can benefit from getting to know those outside of our usual circle better. The Breakfast Club is rated R.

It still holds up! Haven't watched it in years, forget how influential it was at the time

I think nowadays we call that intimidation, vandalism, bullying, sexual assault, and just regular assault, but ignore me! The premise is ridiculous --- that a magical detention day sorts out a bunch of broken teenagers (articulate, intelligent, and good-looking teenagers.... I surmise that the mean ugly morons at this school get detention on Sundays instead). The dialogue, script, and acting are indeed all good, as a first-time watcher I'd say the movie stands the test of time. It also passes the Bechdel test, and if these are not the feminism-approved strong independent women we're getting in movies now, I can assure you it's accurate enough for the time.

They give this movie on tv. Every time it's on it's always in the middle. I'm glad that I got to see it from the beginning. I enjoyed watching it.

I didn't particularly like this movie, I had heard such great reviews but I didn't really like the way it ended. I felt like it was saying you have to change who you are to get guys to notice you, and that the crude "bad boy" who was objectifying you all day will actually be a good boyfriend...No thanks.

Probably the most accurate highschool teen movie to date. I think it is absolutely correct in its depiction of high school students and what they go through in their lives at school and outside of school. You can relate to the characters in some way, shape or form with what they have experienced and I think that is what makes this movie successful. It feels real and not over-dramatized. Of course there are some stereotypes but they are true for the most part. Really loved the dialogue as well. Finally this movie is timeless. Even though it has been nearly thirty years since the release date, it is still accurate and relatable for today's time. John Hughes best movie without a doubt.

The Breakfast Club depicts what kids go through from the pressures of teen life not just from the 80's but today and generations to come. People can find themselves in one if not more of the characters and relate to the problems and pressures that they are going through. I loved this movie when it was new, and still enjoy it today. I would highly recommend this movie to all John Hughes fans as he always seems to have a good way of connecting to teenagers. A must see for all fans of 80's movies.
