The first adventure of Percy Jackson with his fellow half-blood friends. This is an interesting way for kids to learn about the gods of Greek mythology with their different powers. Percy has to navigate his life between the world of…

A fun listen but a bit predictable!

A boy has been shunned for the majority of his life. Kicked out from school after school, he is unsure of what to do. He isn't a bad kid, really. He's usually just at the wrong place at the wrong time. After one particularly traumatic…

This book is amazing. Rick Riordan is a hilarious author and also my favorite, (closely followed by J. K. Rowling) This book is the book that I chose to comment on because it is the beginning of a thrilling adventure where Percy and his…

Amazing book to read - it intrigues as much as possible and ends with a slight cliffhanger that would force you to read the entire series. Descriptions are very vivid and fluid.

It's been over ten years since I first read this book, and I still love it! This series is what got me interested in Greek Mythology when I was a kid.

With the help of some old and new friends, Percy Jackson is set on a journey he would never have thought possible. The Greek Olympian Gods are in the midst of an unsolved feud and it's only up to Percy and his friends to save Olympus. This…

“The Lightning Thief” is an excellent start to an outstanding series. “The Lightning Thief” included genres of fantasy, greek mythology, and fiction. Ranging from the half-bloods to Camp Half-Blood itself, it reminded me a lot of the Harry…

Narrator Bernstein does a fine job--it's easy to keep the characters straight, and his reading of Percy himself is spot on!

Much better than the film of the same name, not sure why the film felt the need to deviate from the source material as wildly as it did. Could have been better, and I'm not a huge fan of the 1st Person writing style. It also seems to have…

I've been assuming I wouldn't like this series. "It's not my kind of book" So when I saw it available as a downloadable audio book, I gave it a shot and really enjoyed it. This is the first in the series. We meet the main characters, get…

A great book, but a dreadful narration. The narrator does Percy fine, but the rest are a great disappointment.

All I can say about this book is that it's yet another greatpeice of work by Rick Riordan. There are many Greek legends in this book that are explained in a more modern format.
