May 1 is an international workers rights holiday where workers march for dignity and the right to fair wages, leisure time and civil rights- and it began right here in Chicago! In 1886, in what is known as the Haymarket Affair, workers in Chicago organized a strike for the right to an 8-hour workday.
Grab a piece of cardboard and make a collage to bring to the march on May Day! Materials provided.
This is a drop-in program for all ages.
