
As spring training heats up and Opening Day nears, the library invites baseball fans and history lovers alike to an exclusive first look at the upcoming five-part docuseries "My Father, Dick Allen" - a compelling portrait of one of the game's most electrifying and misunderstood legends. Told through the intimate lens of family, the series charts Dick Allen's extraordinary rise from his barrier-breaking early years in Philadelphia to his MVP season on Chicago's South Side, culminating in his long-overdue induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This is a story of brilliance, courage, and resilience-on the field and at home.
The evening will feature a special screening of Episode 1, a five-minute extended trailer, and a lively panel discussion with audience Q&A, giving you the chance to speak withour filmmakers and special guests!
