Description

In honor of Women's History Month, Black Women Directors and the Chicago Public Library present a free screening of Free Angela and All Political Prisoners, directed by Shola Lynch.

This screening is presented by Black Women Directors, a digital archive and curatorial platform founded by Danielle A. Scruggs that celebrates the work of Black women and non-binary filmmakers worldwide. After the film, join us for a community conversation guided by Scruggs, Morgan Elise Johnson, filmmaker and publisher of The Triibe, an independent, Black-owned digital news publication and Block Club Chicago journalist Jamie Nesbitt Golden. Additionally, Dr. Eve L. Ewing and Build have donated 10 of Angela Davis's books to be given to the first 10 attendees so arrive early!
