Description

Celebrate Black History Month by uncovering your family’s story! Join us for Tracing Our Roots, a beginner-friendly genealogy workshop designed to help participants explore African American ancestry. Learn how to navigate historical records, discover resources specific to Black family history, and connect with your ancestors’ stories.

Our librarian will guide you through practical research strategies, tips for organizing your findings, and ways to preserve and share your family heritage. This program is ideal for anyone interested in their lineage and the rich histories that shape our communities.

Please bring the vital information (birth date/place, death date/place, marriage date/place) of one of your ancestors (such as birth parents or grandparents). We will provide starter Genealogy worksheets.
