Climate Conversation: The Lost Words

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Humboldt Park

Description

Please join us for a discussion about the book The Lost Words and more broadly, climate change and parenthood.

The Lost Words is "a beautiful illustrated book for readers young and old. All over the country, there are words disappearing from children's lives. These are the words of the natural world--Dandelion, Otter, Bramble and Acorn, all gone. The rich landscape of wild imagination and wild play is rapidly fading from our children's minds. The Lost Words stands against the disappearance of wild childhood. "

Our discussion will be led by Ayesha Qazi-Lampert, an environmental science teacher at Chicago Public Schools.

Current reading selections are available for check-out at the Humboldt Park Branch circulation desk!

This event is for ages 13+.
