Curious about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and what it means for everyday life? 

AI can help those experiencing loss of vision to experience enhanced independence with everyday life and tasks such as reading text, awareness of objects and surroundings, remembering things, and writing messages. It is also being used in many positive ways around the world — supporting healthcare, education, transportation, and creative work.

This four-part workshop series offers a friendly, hands-on introduction to AI for members of the Chicago Public Library Assistive Resources and Talking Book Center (ARTBC). Attendees will unlock the potential of AI tools to enhance productivity and integrate AI into daily tasks. We’ll learn together at a comfortable pace, share ideas, and practice using your smartphone.

Workshop Sessions:
Session 1: What Is AI and why should I care? Let's Discuss!
Session 2: Understanding the World with AI
Session 3: Writing, Planning, and Problem-Solving with AI
Session 4: Learning and Creativity with AI

Members will discover practical ways AI can support daily life and feel more comfortable talking about AI with friends and family while learning from their peers in a relaxed, supportive, and beginner-friendly environment.
