Description

Using maps to describe the Chicago area related to the glaciers, moraines, and various levels of Lake Chicago and Lake Chippewa that preceded the current Lake Michigan levels historian E.J. Neafsey will bring you through the last 20,000 years of Chicago History.  He will also describe the Illinois "Presettlement" prairie vegetation using the surveyor maps from the early 1800s. And a little Chicago history related to Fort Dearborn, William Wells, the Black Hawk war, and the reversal of the Chicago River.
