Debut novelist Martine sets a careful course in this gorgeously crafted diplomatic space opera that strands its protagonist amid imperial politics and murder. --Publisher's Weekly

Relax, enjoy a beverage and read. Over the course of the month, read A Memory Called Empire and aim to try at least one beverage from a Chicago-based institution of your choice while you read. At the end of the month, we will meet on Zoom to discuss the book and any interesting beverages you tried. Feel free to join the discussion BYOB style.
