This workshop, led by Bailey Katz, is designed for adults (18+) to connect through creative self-expression and art making to find a reprieve from stress. We will meet for an hour (or 1.5 hours) in a relaxed setting with gentle music and the option to chat with other participants. This time offers a moment of comfort and an opportunity to be present with one another while creating art.
Our activity will be to make hope stones. These will be small, meaningful pieces that highlight your values, strengths, and attributes that support resilience during difficult times. These stones can serve as comforting fidgets or as a place to hold your worries when feeling overwhelmed. They also make thoughtful gifts for loved ones
Bailey Katz and has been a resident of Chicago for the past ten years. Her favorite material to create with is clay whether to make figure sculptures or functional pottery at a community studio space. These skills lend themselves well to her work as an art therapist and licensed clinical professional counselor at a private practice where she works with individuals.
