The Power of Form with Stuti Sharma

6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Northtown

Description

This program is directed towards poets who find community on stage and in performance but who also want to grow as writers. This workshop will take several forms of poetry such as the sonnet, the aubad and the ghazal and talk about their historical uses and how to use them to strengthen our poetry as spoken word and stage poets.

Stuti Sharma is a poet from Chicago and the south suburbs, an inaugural Tin House 2023-24 Reading Fellow with a residency in Portland, teaching artist with Chicago Poetry Center and contributor to Hanif Abdurraqib's 68to05.com. They were curator for the Chicago Reader's Poetry Corner in May 2024.
