Electronic Music Improvisation Performance: Inspired By The Golden Age of Video Games

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Northtown

Description

Inspired by the golden age of video games when electronic music and gaming were in their infancy, Charles Kim performs electronic textures, melodies and soundscapes on a synthesizer he designed. A composer of video game, movie, commercial and theater music, Charles Kim’s electronic music uses a combination of pre-composed motifs and generative (electronically randomized and melodically controlled) elements that represent an exciting dialogue of human and computer spontaneous invention. In these performances, Charles will perform a new improvised composition at every event.
