Are you interested in learning about how AI is used in music?
This program will feature examples of musicians and their work, including the four Chicago-based artists of Chicago Creative Machines, who incorporate machine learning and AI into their musical practices.
We'll also discuss AI-and-music tools by HarmonAI, Google Magenta and others, and presenter Molly Jones will demonstrate music-generating neural networks.
Molly Jones is an improviser, composer and data engineer. Her tools include saxophones, flutes, found sounds and machine learning models and her practice originates in a place of playfulness, listening and attention.
Molly’s doctoral research focuses on building, adapting and training audio-generating neural networks for musical applications. She is the founder of Chicago Creative Machines, a lecture/performance series promoting the work of artists creating with original machine learning tools.
