Adult Book Discussion

Join us as we discuss Kindred by Octavia Butler. This is the story of Dana Franklin, the descendent of slaves who is summoned back in time by Rufus Weylin, the son of a slave-owner, who can reach her across time somehow when he is in mortal danger. Dana attempts to help Rufus as well as the slaves on his father Tom's plantation, but she is continually stymied by the violence and ignorance of the maimed by Rufus during an attempted rape and kills him in self-defense.
