Join us for an exciting Pre-Kwanzaa celebration featuring Chicago's own Poetic Storyteller Oba William King. We're taking a deep dive in the history and celebration of Kwanzaa, along with learning about the 7 principles, the importance of the table setup and all the essential symbols. This is an interactive workshop formatted to engage the audience in discussion about the importance of family, community, and traditions. We focus on the necessity of having an African American Centered Cultural Celebration. We share the who, what, when, where why and how of Kwanzaa and include a positive focus on the Founder of Kwanzaa Dr. Maulana Karenga.
For all ages 10 and up.
