Budburst: Milkweeds and Monarchs Project

Description

Join a community science project with the Chicago Botanic Garden to learn more about the relationship between milkweed plants and monarch butterflies.

Participating families will receive a Milkweed planting kit and will be asked to track butterfly visitors. Budburst kits from the Chicago Botanic Garden will be distributed. Supplies are limited, and families must attend an in-person or virtual training.

For all ages, best for children 6 years and up. Please register only one person per family or group.

How to Attend
This event takes place in person.
Chicago Public Library cannot collect personal information online from
kids 0 to 13. A parent or guardian’s email address must be used to register. As a reminder, school email addresses may block external emails such as those from CPL.

We encourage those who are not vaccinated, may be immunocompromised or have family members who are immunocompromised to wear a mask, as well as residents under the age of 5 who are not yet eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine. Questions about visiting the library? Check out our Using the Library FAQ.
