Description

So you are researching your family history and you’ve already checked Ancestry… what’s next? You have all the names, you have some dates, and maybe some addresses if you are lucky. Checking area newspapers might be your best next step to expand the story and provide context. Not only might you find your great-uncle’s obituary, but you might find a story about your grandmother in the society page, or a picture of your dad at a parade. In this program, we’ll teach you how to access the online newspaper databases to search for your family history, and how to dig deeper in our print and microfilm collection as well! Presented by the Newspapers and Periodicals Department
