Memoir Writing Workshop Series with Author Beth Finke

Award-winning author, journalist and teacher, Beth Finke teaches the craft of memoir and first-person narratives in this four-part writing workshop. Through discussions, observation exercises, and writing prompts, Beth’s workshop will answer common questions about getting started, the difference between autobiography and memoir, exposing family secrets, using pen names and pseudonyms, writer’s block, researching, organizing your work, self-publishing and working with publishers. A fun and easy-going workshop to discover ways friends, , family, celebrations, milestones, moments and place can be catalysts for unlocking memories and uncovering stories.

Beth Finke is the author of Writing Out Loud and teaches weekly memoir-writing classes throughout the Chicago area.

How to Attend
This event takes place on Zoom. Participants must register for all four sessions of the workshop. New registrations will not be allowed after the first session. Please register by 1 hour (1:00 pm) before the first session and you will receive an email with a link to the secure Zoom meeting about 1 hour (1:00 pm)  before the meeting. By registering for this event, you agree to abide by the Library Use Guidelines.
