Make an Embroidered Garden

Description


Learn the basics of embroidery with Maker-in-Residence Katelyn Patton. Use thread and beads to create flowers and bugs on a felt patch. Discuss the significance of native plants, what plants can be found in Chicago and ways of observing and engaging with nature. Supplies needed: Felt, needle, thread, embroidery floss of various colors, seed beads of various colors, scissors.

A limited number of kits are available, please email makerspace@chipublib.org for more information. Kits can be sent to a neighborhood branch and make take up to 72 hours to arrive.
