The Art Exchange

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM

Description

Join Clearing neighborhood local artist, IZZO, for an art exchange.

What is an art exchange you ask? Everyone starts their own creative process knowing that the next person will take over to complete the art piece. Two styles combine - what starts as your vision, ends as someone else's! Nervous yet?

As you start your piece, remember: the second person will be able to paint over, cut or reconstruct your art. The second person will respectfully incorporate two visions to become one stunning masterpiece!

All pieces must fit in a standard brown shopping bag (12 x 16 inches) and can be made from anything - cardboard, paper plate, found object, canvas, etc. You are only limited by your imagination! Bring your half completed art back to the Clearing Branch* in a sealed brown bag so the second person has no idea what they are getting. (We know handing over control and something so personal and dear to you is hard but it will be a rewarding and satisfying experience.)

* If you are unable to bring your art to the library to exchange, exchange with a family member, neighbor or friend!

Dates to know:

July 7: Join us for the initial Zoom with IZZO explaining the Art Exchange, answering questions and giving examples

July 21, 22, 23: Drop off/pick up art pieces

August 4, 5, 6: Drop off completed art at Clearing Branch

August 11: IZZO displays the finished products via Zoom

Each person will be starting their own piece and completed another's piece so you will experience the Art Exchange from both perspectives!
