Adult Book Discussion: Hitting a Straight Lick with a Crooked Stick by Zora Neale Hurston

2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Description

In 1925, Zora Neale Hurston was living in New York as a fledgling writer. Hitting A Straight Lick With A Crooked Stick, a collection of short stories, was found in archives after her death. The book reveals African American folk culture in Harlem in the 1920s. This book includes eight of Hurston's "lost" Harlem gems.

Copies of the book are available at the Bezazian Branch circulation desk.
