Citywide After School: Edible Engineering with Bridges

Join us for a special series of programs conducted by librarians from all over the city! Together we'll explore books, science, art and more!

Engineering you can eat! Come learn about bridges and engineering with Mr. Chris from the South Chicago Branch and Ms. Chambers from the Woodson Regional Library in this delicious program that will have you build your very own edible bridge.

Materials to prepare ahead of time:

  • 1 Box of graham crackers, chocolate or otherwise.
  •  1 bag of jumbo marshmallows (usually has about 26 jumbo marshmallows, you'll need about 18-20).
  • Pretzel Sticks (you'll need about 65, whatever bag works best for you)
  • Bag of Gummy Bears
  • Melted Caramel for sticking

    For school-aged kids 6 and up.

    How to Attend

    This event takes place on Zoom. Register at least 24 hours before the event. Only one registration per household is needed. You’ll receive an email with a link to the secure Zoom meeting about 24 hours before the meeting. By registering for this event, you agree to abide by the Library Use Guidelines.
