Weaving is an ancient fibers process that creates textiles for decorative or utilitarian purposes. Weaving can promote mindfulness and relaxation due to its repetitive process. Join us in creating unique woven handcrafts and learn more about the history of weaving. Beginning weavers welcome! Recommended for ages 6 and up. Younger children should have an adult assistant.
Participants should have either a piece of cardboard at least 5” x 5” or a paper plate, a pair of scissors, two or more colors of yarn, a ruler or straight edge to create lines, and a pencil or pen. Optional materials include beads wide enough to fit the yarn through and a stick or dowel to finish the piece.
