International Games Day @ Chicago Public Library

Harold Washington Library Center

Description

The 5th annual International Games Day @ Your Library mini-con at CPL is one of over a thousand library events around the world celebrating play. Come out for special gaming programs and events that highlight Chicagoland game creators.

One room will highlight local tabletop game developers and publishers, who will demo their games as well as answer questions about the development process. You can also learn some favorite games from retailers and other game-related communities:

Bit Bash, the successful indie video game festival team, will host a room of locally created independent video games. This showcase includes over 10 video games on laptops, projectors and TV screens for you to play.

Mystery League has designed a quest for you to conquer that takes place throughout the library. Navigating the quest will require skills from book knowledge to AR puzzles. Those who complete the quest quickest will win prizes related to One Book, One Chicago.

I Play Games will host a video game competition on the big screen in the Library's Video Theater.

Finally, local podcasters Dungeons, Dice, & Everything Nice will close out the day by performing an actual-play RPG (D&D 5th Edition) adventure live.
