EventsA Tale of Chicago Told in Ten Songs

This event has already occurred.

Many songwriters and musical artists have called Chicago home over the past 150 years. From the fiddle played by Mark Beaubien at his tavern to the street performers along Michigan Avenue, the cadence of Chicago can be heard in a variety of tuneful settings that welcome those who share a love of music. In this talk, Chicago historian and author Max Grinnell will weave a tale that tells of ten key musical moments in the city's history, along with a few additional surprises.

This program is presented as part of the 2017-2018 One Book, One Chicago season, exploring the theme "Music: The Beat of Our City" through Greg Kot's book I'll Take You There.
