Cliche and uninteresting writing style. Broke some writing rules, but not in a good way. A child who has a lisp throughout the book is hard to read and didn’t add anything to the character development, just made it frustrating to read. It felt more like a character sketch than a novel in some ways. It moved along, but I didn’t get a sense of how the events in the main character’s life affected or changed her.
