yes, lennon was a tenor, not a baritone, and you can really hear the tenor-ness of his voice on LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO, avec klaus, eric, and yoko and alan. particularly, on the two songs his former band--the beatles--covered, relatively early on in their career: MONEY; and, DIZZY MISS LEZZY. one can really--i say, hear such tenor-ness on the live versions performed on stage at the rock 'n' roll festival in canada. johnny wished to use the occasion to promote peace (specifically, in vietnam), as joko thought there was just a lot of noise and no clarity buzzing in the air, at the time. they did also perform BLUE SUEDE SHOES, YER BLUES, and GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. it was a nervy thing to do, and you can see it on their faces (video-s on YOUTUBE). to me, the title phrase--G P A C--is as powerful as aa's "keep it simple."yes, lennon was a tenor, not a baritone, and you can really hear the tenor-ness of his voice on LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO, avec klaus, eric, and yoko and alan. particularly, on the two songs his former band--the beatles--covered, relatively early on in…

"THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (shakespeare) is a story of a moneylender--shylock"--(i interrupt myself here as i want to preserve the joy of encountering one of bill's works, first-time). had i gone on, the plot would necessarily have been revealed, not a wise thing to do, at all. "religions that attempt to keep the body sacred while denying the CREATOR'S hand are in the same boat as skeptics who try to protect life while saying life is nothing more than matter." which reminds me of the alan watts book entitled, DOES IT MATTER? "jesus made it clear that the body is not just informationally from other quantities; it is purposefully different. that is why the resurrection is a physical one at its core. the body matters in the eternal sense; not just in the temporal sense.""THE MERCHANT OF VENICE (shakespeare) is a story of a moneylender--shylock"--(i interrupt myself here as i want to preserve the joy of encountering one of bill's works, first-time). had i gone on, the plot would necessarily have been revealed, not…

" THE UNREGULATED TOLL BRIDGE "---this, the metaphor she uses to describe what happened after warren buffett purchased the BUFFALO NEWS. it's about how advertising in papers crept into news content; if you write a story critical of one of your advertisers, that ends up squeezing your revenue flow. also, with buffett, he had no competition, so he raised his rates 'mountainasly', with little fear of losing subscribers, nor casual, day-to-day on-the-street, spur of the moment (occasional) purchasers of his daily newspapers. correspondingly, his advertising rates went up, with this having no deleterious effect on his business with advertisers. ah, but then, came the internet. newspapers across the nation lost their seductive allure to both readers and advertisers. and there was nothing the industry could do about it.//author (of ON TYRANNY) timothy snyder blurbs (on the back cover): 'an excellent introduction to the essential problem of our republic. with a wake-up call like this one, we still have a chance'. sullivan's point is that with the dying out of local printed news, we have lost access to "real news". i instead ask: where is its replacement, fake news, coming from? as far as 'essential problems' is concerned: how about the decline of education, at all levels, in this country?"
